30 Million Strong: Changan hits historic production milestone, ushering in new era of user-centric, tech-driven global growth

Changan Automobile recently celebrated a significant achievement, becoming the first independent Chinese automaker to produce 30 million vehicles. The milestone vehicle, an AVATR 12 Quad-Laser Edition, rolled off the production line on December 9, 2025, at the AVATR Digital Intelligence Factory in Chongqing, China.

This accomplishment highlights a remarkable acceleration in Changan's manufacturing capabilities, as the company took only four years to produce its last 10 million vehicles, compared to 38 years for the first 20 million units since its entry into the automotive industry in 1983.

Strategic 2030 Vision

Changan Chairman Zhu Huarong affirmed the company's ambitious strategic vision for 2030, which includes a target of 5 million vehicles in production and sales. New energy vehicles (NEVs) are expected to comprise over 60% of these sales, with more than 30% originating from overseas markets. This aligns with Changan's plan to launch over 50 NEV models by 2030, all integrating the new Tianshu intelligent architecture.

Future Technology & Expansion

The company's future strategy emphasizes intelligent technology, with advancements in autonomous driving, chassis, and cockpit systems. Changan also plans to diversify beyond traditional automobiles, aiming to mass-produce humanoid robots by 2028 and launch commercial flying cars by 2030. Changan currently operates five sub-brands including AVATR, Qiyuan (Nevo), and Deepal.
